A Nuclear Iran

Introduction

A nuclear Iran is almost a reality. The big question is whether Israel will act at the last minute or will it tolerate a nuclear-armed state close by with the stated intention of wiping Israel off the map? We may know the answer soon.

We do know that there has been a large buildup of forces for the coming conflict. When it arrives as it seems it most surely will, you will be affected. The repercussions will spread world-wide very quickly.

If you have not yet seen the connection between Biblical, end-time prophecy and what is developing in the Middle East, please read about Daniel's vision.

Note that I am simply sharing items of interest. That does not imply that I agree with everything presented.

A Nuclear Iran

At War with Iran
By: Alan Caruba / Canada Free Press.com / July 18, 2012

Nuclear Iran
The ayatollahs have not ceased their
quest for nuclear weapons capability.

"'State TV said President Assad's brother-in-law, Assef Shawkat, and Gen Dawoud Rajha, the defence minister were victims of a blast during a high level security meeting. The Interior minister was also injured. Gen Shawkat was the deputy defense minister and was among the most feared figures in Assad's inner circle. He is married to Assad's elder sister, Bushra.' --The Telegraph (UK) July 18, 2012

"The best thing now for Syria would be a dead Bashar al-Assad and events are pointing toward that conclusion. The world has been watching the slaughter of Syrians by their own government as Bashar follows in his father's footsteps.

"For now, using the covert skills of the CIA, the U.S. is providing arms to the Syrian rebels while the Saudis are picking up the costs. Recall that the U.S. provided similar assistance to the mujahadin who forced the Soviet Union out of Afghanistan. That conflict included the creation of al Qaeda and their appreciation was demonstrated on 9/11.

"At this point, other than guarding their border with Syria, the Israelis are concentrated on the threat that a nuclear Iran poses. They are not alone, but the question remains whether the Obama administration would support an attack on a nuclear Iran.

"No matter what the outcome is in Syria, the Iranian leaders will at some point use nuclear weapons, most likely in an attack on Israel because their hatred of the Jewish State is irrational and because of their bizarre belief that they must bring about a global conflagration in order to secure the return of a mythical Twelfth Imam who will usher in a world under the domination of Islam."

Despite the inevitability of a nuclear war no one directing the affairs of this nation and others really wants to face the truth of this or, at least, discuss it in public. It explains, though, why the U.S. has moved a fleet of warships in and near the Strait of Hormuz, the chokepoint of the Persian Gulf and is building other military assets in the Gulf States.

How much of a military remains after the automatic sequester of Defense Department funding depends on the forthcoming election and the capacity of Congress to do anything sensible.

For now there are wars and rumors of war, and the world remains a huge insane asylum.

Ray's note: Did you see what that news item actually said in the last sentence? - "wars and rumors of wars." That is directly out of Matthew's account of what Jesus gave as signs of the end! Here it is:

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet." (Matt 24:6)

Iran Reports Long-range Missile Launch in Exercise
By: Nasser Karimi / The Washington Times.com / July 3, 2012

Iranian Missiles
The launched missiles are also capable of
hitting U.S. bases in the region.

TEHRAN, IRAN (AP) -- Iran's powerful Revolutionary Guards test fired several ballistic missiles on Tuesday, including a long-range variety meant to dissuade Israel and the U.S. from attacking the Islamic Republic, local media reported.

"It quoted a leading officer as saying the missiles travelled distances of up to 1,300 kilometers, or 800 miles.

"Israel is about 1,000 kilometers [600 miles] away from Iran's western borders, while the U.S. Navy's Fifth Fleet is based in Bahrain, some 200 kilometers [120 miles] from Iranian shores in the Persian Gulf.

"Tehran says the drills aim to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of its warheads and weapons systems."

Two More US Carriers, Dozens of Mini-subs Rushed to Hormuz

"DEBKAfile's military sources report substantial US reinforcements, led by the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier, are being rushed to the Persian Gulf opposite Iran, with dozens of unmanned underwater craft for destroying mines.

"DEBKAfile's military sources say that Washington decided to expand its military deployment in the area after concluding, in consultation with French and British naval experts, that Iran is short of the military strength and sophisticated measure for completely sealing off the Strait of Hormuz to all sea traffic, especially oil tankers."

Why Iran Will Ignite a Regional War, Sooner Rather than Later
By: Lisa Daftari / Fox News.com / July 16, 2012

Oil Tanker
Sanctions may have cut Iran's oil exports by
a million barrels a day.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran is in protection mode; its mere existence depends on protecting its nuclear sites and maintaining Bashar al Assad's regime in Syria. Now, the possibility that Assad's regime will fall, together with the intensification of sanctions against Iran that were implemented early this month, have politically and economically isolated the Iranian regime to a point where the only way out is for it to create its own global diversion through military provocation.

"Currently, three snowballing events against the backdrop of mounting Western pressure on Iran and failed negotiations at the United Nations Security Council.

"First, sanctions are further crippling the already weak and crumbling Iranian economy. Both the regime and the people of Iran are already feeling the intense economic pressure as the prices of basic goods have skyrocketed.

"Second, the probable fall of the Assad regime and even its current deterioration are undermining the axis of survival created between the two countries, thereby challenging Iran's relationship with Hezbollah in Lebanon and its strategic geopolitical status in the region.

"And lastly, oil prices continue to decline and Iran's oil output is at the lowest recorded level in the last 20 years.

"A regional escalation would be the ideal distraction to take global pressure off Iran's nuclear agenda and prevent harm to and dissolving of Assad's regime.

"A politically and economically cornered Islamic Republic suffering from the latest implementation of targeted sanctions, a weakening of the Assad regime and further economic deterioration of both Syrian and Iranian regimes, is vying for a similar escalation that is not too far away.

"Iran will opt for conflagration over surrender in the coming months. The pressures are high, yet the circumstances of 1988 and 2003 are absent. More importantly, the Islamic regime in Tehran now boasts the unwavering support and encouragement of Russia."

Iranian Insider: Israel Will Be Destroyed if the West Attacks Syria
Reza Kahlili / The Daily Caller.com / July 16, 2012

Hassan Abbasi
Hassan Abbasi

"A former Iranian intelligence officer in the Revolutionary Guard Corps is warning the West that any attack on Syria will spark a coordinated counterattack on Israel that will obliterate the Jewish state.

"'The West is quite familiar with the doctrine of "The Sword of Damocles." This is the sword that constantly is kept on the neck of the enemy, and at any time the enemy makes a mistake, then its precious one is killed,' said Hassan Abbasi during a conference held Thursday in Iran titled 'Syria, the First Line of Resistance.'

"'The Islamic resistance has its sword on the neck of the Zionist regime,' Abbasi said, 'and with such a hostage, if NATO, which has plans to attack Syria, commits to its plan, we will then reveal our strategy.'

"Abbasi rattled Iran's sabers at Europe in 2005, saying that his country had 'a strategy drawn up for the destruction of Anglo Saxon civilization. We must make use of everything we have at hand to strike at this front by means of our suicide operations or by means of missiles.'"

Jerusalem Capital of Israel, Romney Declares

Wall, in Jerusalem.

"Standing on Israeli soil, U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney on has declared Jerusalem to be the capital of the Jewish state and said the United States has 'a solemn duty and a moral imperative' to block Iran from achieving nuclear weapons capability.

"'Make no mistake, the ayatollahs in Iran are testing our moral defenses. They want to know who will object and who will look the other way,' he said. 'We will not look away nor will our country ever look away from our passion and commitment to Israel.'

"'My understanding is the policy of our nation has been a desire to move our embassy ultimately to the capital (Jerusalem),' he said, adding, 'I would only want to do so and to select the timing in accordance with [CW Wonders, 'Per Daniel 8? Daniel 9?'] the government of Israel.'"

Warrantless Cell Phone Tracking Sky-rockets In US
Russia Today / July 2, 2012

Cell Phone Information
Law enforcement agencies defend their use
of cell phone information.

"A report released by US cell phone companies shows a disturbing spike in the number of requests by US law enforcement agencies for cell phone information. Even more disturbing, most law enforcement agencies do not provide a proper warrant.

"For example, the number of requests fielded by AT&T alone has tripled over the course of the last five years, responding to about 700 a day. Thirty of those requests are deemed 'emergency cases' which do not require a warrant.

"'I never expected it to be this massive,' said Representative Edward J. Markey, a Massachusetts Democrat who requested the reports from nine carriers, as reported by the New York Times.

"Coupled with an American Civil Liberties Union report in April, however, there is a disturbing problem with the way law enforcement agencies are making their requests; they hardly ever ask for warrants.

"The ACLU report made waves when its investigation uncovered not only the widespread requests, but also discovered that the practice was so commonplace that most cell phone companies have started to charge money per inquiry, making a profit in turn. Also, the amount of requests have become so large that the cell phone companies themselves have displayed a note of concern, hiring their own teams of in-house lawyers to evaluate the legality of every information request."

One Million Chickens Culled In Outbreak of H7N3 Bird Flu in Mexico
TheExtinction Protocol.com / July 6, 2012

Bird Flu in Mexico
In humans, the disease causes conjunctivitis
and mild flu symptoms.

MEXICO -- An outbreak of the H7N3 bird flu virus in western Mexico has infected about 2.5 million chickens and led authorities to destroy or dispose of almost a million birds.

"The country's Agriculture Department said 129 farms in the western state of Jalisco have been inspected. Flu was confirmed in birds at 24 of the sites and tests continued on most of the rest. The farms in question have been placed under quarantine, the department said in a statement. The outbreak has caused increases in the price of chicken and egg products in Mexico.

"Other countries in the region, Guatemala in particular, have also called national alerts and are strengthening their surveillance and diagnostic programs for Avian Influenza."

Man Wins Right To Wear Pasta Strainer On Driver License Photo

Pastafarian

In Austria one of the strangest fights for religious freedom has come to an end: Niko Alm, a self-described "Pastafarian," fought for three years for the right to wear a pasta strainer on his head in his driver's license photo. His argument? Alm claimed he belonged to the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster and wearing the strainer was part of his religion.

Ray's note: Can you see how "respect for religious rights" - as important as that is - is diluting true religion?

"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh." (Luke 21:28)
