Dinosaur History -
Not What You Have Been Told

dinosaur picture

Evidence that dinosaur history is not what you have been lead to believe has been unearthed in Mexico. What does dinosaur history have to do with prophecy news? This month, I have an item to share with you that is a little out of the ordinary. Bible-believing Christians understand that God created the world in a literal week approximately 6000 years ago. The evolutionary theory has been devised to discredit the Genesis account. Dinosaurs are often used in support of this. They are purported to have lived millions of years ago, long before man walked the earth and quite contrary to Biblical timing.

I was trained and worked for a number of years as a biologist. At university, I took a number of courses where evolution was stressed and taught as fact. I have since learned better. If it could be shown that, in fact, dinosaurs and man were contemporaries that would be kind of hard on the geological column and evolutionary theory. The first item below introduces you to just such evidence. Follow the link to the website and read more and see more pictures for yourself.

I also - you might have noticed - tend to share news items about the Middle East, the situation between Israel and Iran etc. That is because I believe the developing situation there to be vital to fulfilling Bible prophecy. Perhaps by the next newsletter, I will put together a short study to explain how I see it. In the meantime, if you can spare a few minutes for God's word, try to read Daniel chapter 8. As you do, take note that verses 17, 19 and 26 seem to point to this vision being for the time of the end. Also, remember that the animals and horns in Daniel's visions are symbolic of world powers - which ones?

Again, note that I am sharing items of interest from the news. That does not imply that I agree with everything presented.

Prophecy News - 2010 May

Ceramic dinosaur figures (some with humans in the same figure) unearthed giving evidence that man and dinosaurs co-existed

Dinosaur history is connected to prophecy in that the Bible says (Daniel 12:4) that there will be an increase of knowledge in the last days. I believe this increase in knowledge will include knowledge supporting the truth of the Bible - including the creation account - giving people more incentive to accept it.

Early in the 20th century ceramic figures were being unearthed in Mexico from the Chupicauro Indians (a tribe who lived in the area from about 500 BC to 500 AD). They included figurines of dinosaurs and some of the pieces include a human figure with a dinosaur. History shows that it was the 20th century before modern science really began to understand about dinosaurs. How did these Indians know so much about dinosaurs? See more information and pictures at www.bible.ca.

US Warms to Strike on Iran
By: Victor Kotsev / AsiaTimesOnline / April 23, 2010

"'With sufficient foreign assistance, Iran could probably develop and test an intercontinental ballistic missile [ICBM] capable of reaching the United States by 2015,' claimed a Pentagon report that was declassified on Monday. The almost simultaneous timing of two key recent revelations -- this and Israeli accusations that Syria had transferred Scud missiles to Hezbollah in Lebanon -- has contributed to a fresh escalation of tensions in the Middle East and to speculation that the stage is being set for a military show-down.

"The war of words has become particularly harsh, and threats are now being exchanged openly between the United States and Iran: the first salvo since President Barack Obama's inauguration, and a troubling development. 'We are not taking any options off the table as we pursue the pressure and engagement tracks,' the Pentagon's press secretary, Geoff Morrell, said this week. 'The president always has at his disposal a full array of options, including use of the military ... It is clearly not our preferred course of action but it has never been, nor is it now, off the table.'

Days ago it was revealed that the US military was actively preparing for war against Iran. 'The Pentagon and US Central Command are updating military plans to strike Iran's nuclear sites, preparing up-to-date options for the president in the event he decides to take such action,' CNN reported on Monday.

"It is hard to tell whether a major Middle Eastern war is inevitable at this point, but the clouds are getting significantly darker, and the US appears to be rapidly warming up to the idea of a military strike against Iranian nuclear facilities, whether carried out by the Americans themselves or by Israel. This is a major development, and the next big red line to watch for would be a statement affirming military action coming directly from the US president. If his track record is any indication, when Obama decides to act, he will abandon his reserve and act swiftly and decisively."

US Threatens Iran with All Options
By: Tom Halls / REUTERS.com / April 1, 2010

"Washington says 'all options are on the table' in dealing with Tehran, in a veiled threat, which refers to a new US nuclear policy.

"During a Sunday address to attendees of a Pentagon briefing, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates touched on the newly-crafted Nuclear Posture Review (NPR), under which the Obama administration promises not to use nuclear weapons against states that do not possess nuclear warheads, with the exception of Iran.

"Gates asserted that the 22,000-word Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) does not apply to countries such as Iran and North Korea because they belong to a certain category of states that Washington will never limit its options against.

"The United States is the first country in the world to develop such weapons, and is the only country to have used them in wartime."

Iran Hardliner Issues Strait of Hormuz Warning To U.S.
Reporting by Hossein Jaseb and Hashem Kalantari; Writing by Fredrik Dahl / Reuters.com / April 27, 2010

Reuters) -- The head of a hardline Iranian political party warned the United States Tuesday against attacking Iran, saying it could hit back by choking 'the West's throat' at a waterway crucial for global oil supplies.

"Iran has also previously said it would respond to any attack by targeting U.S. interests in the region and Israel, and closing the Strait of Hormuz. About 40 percent of the world's traded oil leaves the Gulf region through the strategic narrows.

"'If America goes lunatic, the children of the nation in the Islamic Republic's armed forces would choke the West's throat at the Strait of Hormuz,' Mohammad-Nabi Habibi, secretary-general of the conservative Islamic Coalition Party, was quoted as saying by the semi-official Fars News Agency."

Iran, Syria, Hizballah Gear Up To Provoke Summer War
DEBKAfile.com / April 28, 2010

"US defense secretary Robert Gates said Tuesday night, April 27: 'Hizballah has far more rockets and missile than most governments in the world.' "'We do not intend to provoke any kind of major collision in Lebanon or with Syria, but are watching closely these developments.' "Unlike the United States, Israel has a ringside seat for watching the rockets and missiles pile up just across its 70-kilometer long border with Lebanon. Gates' comment -- and even more Barak's assurance -- gave Syria and the Hizballah space to carry on building a mighty arsenal, which is aimed at only one country, Israel."

Sarkozy: If We Don't Act, Israel Will Strike Iran
In interview to CBS, French president, currently attending Washington nuclear summit, warns of 'disastrous' Israeli strike on Iran, saying, 'I don't want world to wake up to conflict because int'l community incapable of acting' By: Yitzhak Benhorin / YNetNews.com / April 13, 201

WASHINGTON -- 'I do not want the world to wake up to a conflict between Israel and Iran, because the international community has been incapable of acting,' French President Nicolas Sarkozy said in an interview to CBS during his visit to the US to attend the Washington nuclear summit.

"The French President added, 'I consider the fact that Iran should get its hands on a nuclear weapon -- a military nuclear weapon, together with the many statements made by Iranian leaders against the democracy that is Israel is dangerous and unacceptable.'

"He stressed that US President Barack Obama has wanted to stretch out his hand in order to show clearly to the Iranians that it was not they who were the target, but their leadership.

"'But patience has its limits,' he said, 'And we have come to a time now where we need to vote sanctions. Not against the Iranian people, but against the leaders who are leading the country to the wall.'

"Sarkozy refused to specify what kind of sanctions may be imposed on Iran, but stressed that the US and Europe would not settle for 'toothless' sanctions.

"'I would not want the world to wake up to a conflict between Israel and Iran, quite simply because the international community has been incapable of acting,' Sarkozy said, calling a possible Israeli strike against Iran 'a disaster.'"

Obama starts massive US Air-Sea-Marine build-up
Debkafile / Debka.com / May 5, 2010

Debkafile's military sources report a decision by the Obama administration to boost US military strength in the Mediterranean and Persian Gulf regions in the short term with an extra air and naval strike forces and 6,000 Marine and sea combatants. Carrier Strike Group 10, headed by the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier, sails out of the US Navy base at Norfolk, Virginia Friday, May 21. On arrival, it will raise the number of US carriers off Iranian shores to two. Up until now, President Barack Obama kept just one aircraft carrier stationed off the coast of Iran, the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the Arabian Sea, in pursuit of his policy of diplomatic engagement with Tehran.

"Another four US warships will be making their way to the region to join the USS Truman and its Strike Group. They are the guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy and guided missile destroyers USS Winston S. Churchill, USS Oscar Austin and USS Ross."

And here are a couple of North American stories to remind us that all the problems are not on the other side of the world.

Schwarzenegger Warns Of "Terrible Cuts, Absolutely Terrible Cuts" Coming In California
By: Joe Weisenthal / Businessinsider.com / May 12, 2010

"More evidence that California is the new Greece.

"As the state grapples with a horrible budget situation, Arnold Schwarzenegger is warning of pain ahead.

"Specifically, according to the SacBee, Schwarzenegger press secretary Aaron McLear said:

"'What you can expect generally is no taxes and terrible cuts, absolutely terrible cuts . . . We're not going to get through the deficit we have without some really tough decisions and some really terrible cuts.'

"This is going to get really ugly, and though California may stave off default, there's no way they'll be able to stave off the horrible demand destruction that will result from these 'absolutely terrible cuts.'"

U.S. Food Prices 'Spiraling Out of Control'

U.S. food prices jumped by 2.4 percent in March 2010 in the largest monthly leap in more than 26 years, and the sixth consecutive monthly increase. The National Inflation Association (NIA) issued an alert to its members April 22 warning that the sharp upswing in U.S. food inflation will soon lead to a situation as severe as that currently plaguing India.

Here are some of the most startling year-over-year price increases in the U.S. markets: Fresh and dry vegetables up 56.1 percent. Fresh fruits and melons up 28.8 percent. Eggs for fresh use up 33.6 percent. Beef and veal up 10.7 percent. Dairy products up 9.7 percent.

In the alert, the NIA reminded its members that it has long predicted food sector inflation, but admitted having "never anticipated that it would spiral so far out of control this quickly."

I hope that this newsletter's bit of dinosaur history and jitters in the Middle East will awaken you to some of what is happening in relation to world events and prophecy news. Keep looking up.
