Ebola News Keeps Getting Worse

Introduction

Ebola news - all bad; radiation still spreading; the United Religions?; ISIS; economic collapse; the earth quakes and cracks; race riots; EMP threat. All this and more in one of the most significant of these newsletters that I have sent out in some time. Events seem to be speeding up. I have a sense of urgency that there is little time remaining. But along with that comes a sense of expectancy and hopefulness that soon our Savior will return and we can exit this tired old planet.

The Ebola news from Africa is not looking very good. If it could soon grow to 20,000 cases (according to the World Health Organization) and it is not well controlled now, how will they manage with 20,000 cases?

There are documented cases happening almost on a daily basis of massive die offs of animals especially in the oceans. There is a likely connection to the radiation releases from Fukushima that is not getting any better.

Another article covers moves to create a United Religions somewhat like the United Nations. Beware - such a movement has great potential to some day restrict your religious liberty.

The developments with ISIS might just be lining up, even geographically, with Bible prophecy.

Note that I am simply sharing items of interest. That does not imply that I agree with everything presented.

"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars ... nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes ..." (Matt 24:6-7)

Ebola News: Grim Ebola Prediction - Outbreak Is Unstoppable for Now

Sep 4, 2014 03:50 PM ET // by Rachael Rettner, LiveScience

Ebola virus
A scanning electron microscopic image of
Ebola virions.

A doctor who just returned from treating Ebola patients in West Africa predicts the current Ebola outbreak will go on for more than a year, and will continue to spread unless a vaccine or other drugs that prevent or treat the disease are developed.

Dr. Daniel Lucey, an expert on viral outbreaks and an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Medical Center, recently spent three weeks in Sierra Leone, one of the countries affected by the Ebola outbreak. While there, Lucey evaluated and treated Ebola patients, and trained other doctors and nurses on how to use protective equipment.

The current Ebola outbreak, which is mainly in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia, has so far killed at least 1,552 of the more than 3,000 people infected, making it the largest and deadliest Ebola outbreak in history. It is also the first outbreak to spread from rural areas to cities. Strategies that have worked in the past to stop Ebola outbreaks in rural areas may not, by themselves, be enough to halt this outbreak, Lucey said.

How to Trick the Ebola Virus

"I don't believe that our traditional methods of being able to control and stop outbreaks in rural areas ... is going to be effective in most of the cities," Lucey said yesterday (Sept. 3)

More Ebola News - 16 Apocalyptic Quotes From Global Health Officials About This Horrific Ebola Epidemic

By Michael Snyder, on September 3rd, 2014

Ebola

Ebola continues to spread an an exponential rate. According to the World Health Organization, 40 percent of all Ebola cases have happened in just the last three weeks. At this point, the official numbers tell us that approximately 3,500 people have gotten the virus in Africa and more than 1,900 people have died. That is quite alarming, but the real problem will arise if this disease continues to spread at an exponential pace. One team of researchers has used computer modeling to project that the number of Ebola cases will reach 10,000 by September 24th if current trends continue. And if the spread of Ebola does not slow down, we could be dealing with 100,000 cases by December. Even the WHO is admitting that the number of cases is likely to grow to 20,000 before too much longer, and global health officials are now starting to use apocalyptic language to describe this outbreak.

For people in the western world that have never seen anything like this other than in the movies, it can be difficult to grasp just how horrible this epidemic truly is. In the areas of west Africa where Ebola is spreading, fear and panic are everywhere, food shortages are becoming a serious problem and there have been reports of dead bodies rotting in the streets. People are avoiding hospitals and clinics because of paranoia about the fact that so many health workers have contracted the disease. According to the World Health Organization, more than 240 health workers have gotten the virus so far and more than 120 of them have perished.

We have never seen anything like this in any of our lifetimes, and the scary part is that this might only be just the beginning.

The following are 16 apocalyptic quotes from global health officials about this horrific Ebola epidemic...

#1 Dr. Tom Frieden, the Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: "It is the world's first Ebola epidemic, and it's spiraling out of control. It's bad now, and it's going to get worse in the very near future. There is still a window of opportunity to tamp it down, but that window is closing. We really have to act now."

#2 Dr. Joanne Liu, the international president of Doctors Without Borders: "Riots are breaking out. Isolation centres are overwhelmed. Health workers on the frontline are becoming infected and are dying in shocking numbers."

#3 David Nabarro, senior United Nations system coordinator for Ebola disease: "This outbreak is moving ahead of efforts to control it."

#4 Dr. Bruce Aylward, WHO's assistant director-general for emergency operations: "This far outstrips any historic Ebola outbreak in numbers. The largest outbreak in the past was about 400 cases."

#5 Margaret Chan, the head of the World Health Organization: "...we hope to stop the transmission in six to nine months".

#6 Dr. Daniel Bausch, associate professor in the department of Tropical Medicine at Tulane University: "You have a very dangerous virus in three of the countries in the world that are least equipped to deal with it. The scale of this outbreak has just outstripped the resources. That's why it's become so big."

#7 Gayle Smith, senior director at the National Security Council: "This is not an African disease. This is a virus that is a threat to all humanity."

Ray's note: this is not very good ebola news. If they are having such a hard time controlling it now, how will the manage it at 20,000 cases of Ebola? The news just seems to get steadily worse.

Fukushima: "TEPCO Drops Bombshell About Sea Releases; 8 Billion Bq Per Day"

Wednesday, August 27, 2014

Tepco

"TEPCO made the startling admission today at a press conference that the plant is leaking 8 billion bequerels per day. (8 gigabequerels)

  • 5 billion bq of strontium 90
  • 2 billion bq of cesium 137
  • 1 billion bq of tritium * (later corrected to 150)

This is the ongoing daily release to the Pacific. These release numbers are also within the realm of what some oceanographers have been warning about since last year, that there was an ongoing and considerable leak to the sea. According to journalist Ryuichi Kino TEPCO said this may be due to failings of some sort within the “glass” wall at the sea front. This is an underground wall made in the soil by injecting a solidifying agent to block water flow.

This daily release would add up to 11,680,000,000,000 = 11 terabequerels over 4 years time in addition to the initial sea releases during the meltdowns.

Peres proposes 'UN for religions' to pope at Vatican

Francis had 'interest, encouragement' for idea, papal spokesman says.
The Jerusalem Post, September 7, 2014

Pope Francis and Shimon Peres
POPE FRANCIS and former president Shimon
Peres chat at the Vatican yesterday.

VATICAN CITY - Former president Shimon Peres emerged from a Vatican City audience with Pope Francis Thursday after proposing a kind of United Nations for religions.

Peres, 91, who was the world's oldest head of state until his term ended six weeks ago, met with Francis amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

He used the talks to highlight human rights abuses from Hamas and to discuss the rise of anti-Semitism in Europe.

But the main topic of conversation was Peres's idea to create a UN-like organization he called "the United Religions."

Peres said the Argentina-born pontiff was the only world figure respected enough to bring an end to the wars raging in the Middle East and elsewhere in the world.

"In the past, most of the wars in the world were motivated by the idea of nationhood,” Peres said. “But today, wars are incited using religion as an excuse."

Vatican spokesman Fr. Federico Lombardi confirmed to reporters that Peres had pitched his idea for "the United Religions" but said Francis did not commit to it.

"The pope listened, showing his interest, attention, and encouragement," Lombardi said, adding that the pope pointed to the Pontifical Councils for Interreligious Dialogue and for Justice and Peace as existing agencies "suitable" for supporting interfaith peace initiatives.

The summit between Peres and Francis is the third high-profile meeting between the leaders in little more than four months. They met for the first time in late May, when Francis became the fourth pope to visit the Holy Land in the modern era. On that trip, Francis invited Peres and Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to the Vatican for a prayer meeting in June, which they both attended.

Since then, however, tensions in the Middle East have risen amid increased bloodshed in Gaza and in Syria. Lombardi said the 45-minute conversation between the two men - a longer-than-average meeting for the pontiff - did not touch upon "current political issue in any real depth," instead focusing on Peres's idea for the United Religions.

Lombardi said Francis praised Peres as a "man of peace," and said the unusually long meeting was a reflection of the pope’s "deep esteem and appreciation" for the former Israeli leader.

Peres was jointly awarded the Nobel Prize for peace 20 years ago, along with then-prime minister Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat, then chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization.

But Peres praised Francis as the only world figure respected across national boundaries and different faiths.

In an interview with the Catholic Magazine Famiglia Cristiana, Peres called on Francis to leverage his respect to create an interfaith organization to curb religious violence.

"What we need is an organization of United Religions... as the best way to combat terrorists who kill in the name of faith," Peres said. "What we need is an unquestionable moral authority who says out loud, 'No, God does not want this and does not allow it.'" After meeting with Peres, Francis held a 30-minute closed door meeting with Jordanian Prince El-Hassan bin Talal, who sponsors the Royal Institute for Interfaith Studies to promote religious dialogue. Lombardi said that meeting dovetailed into the day's topic of interfaith cooperation and peace.

What Does ISIS Stand For?

Sham's roots run very deep - and very dangerously
by David Stansfield | Counterpunch | June 27, 2014

The Islamic extremists known as ISIS are a great deal more dangerous than most of us realize. The reason for this is hidden in plain sight in the name itself: ISIS. In English, this stands for Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, but that's not what it stands for in Arabic: ad-Dawlat al-Islamiyya fī'l-'Iraq wa'sh-Sham: The Islamic State in Iraq and Ash-Sham.

The crucial difference is the word Sham, a word that resonates in the Arabic-speaker's mind on multiple levels. To see why, let's step into a time machine. All we have to do is start to read any passage of written Arabic, and we find ourselves traveling down that passage, all the way back to a certain day in the Arabian desert circa 630 A.D. It doesn't matter whether what we are reading is from a novel or from today's headlines, it is - and always will be - written in exactly the self-same Arabic, letter for letter and dot for dot, that was used almost 1,400 years ago.

Ray's note: I left out much of the article which you can read at the following link but included another paragraph from near the end of the article below because it may be significant.

So back to Sham, and all the ponderously heavy cultural baggage this word entails. What in God's name does it mean? Well, one thing it does NOT mean is the truncated Syria that was created by the French in 1922. Rather, it means the "North," the "Greater Syria" that encompasses, not only Cyprus and part of southern Turkey, but also the artificial states the British and the French carved out of the Ottoman Empire after World War One: Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Transjordan, Palestine - and subsequently Israel. For most of the last three thousand years, all these regions were one, not only under the empires of the Ottomans, the Caliphs, the Byzantines, the Romans, the Greeks and the Persians, but also under the AsSYRIAns, and even more ancient civilizations before that, dating all the way back to 2,500 B.C.

Ray's note: I find this very interesting because the prophecies of Daniel, especially chapters 7 and 8, have often been understood to link the symbols used there to ancient empires. While there may certainly be some validity to that, Biblical prophecy often has both applications for the time they were given and for the end of time. One of the symbols used is that of a ram which Daniel 8:20 connects with the kings of Media and Persia.

These ancient kingdoms covered a larger area than the modern nations of Iran and Iraq. This article seeems to indicate the the goals of ISIS also include more than the area of these 2 nations and may at some point match more closely with the area of their ancient counterparts. I hope to dig into this more and keep an eye on developments.

ISIS 'Systematically Beheading Children' in Iraq; They Are 'Killing Every Christian They See,' Says Chaldean Leader

By: Leonardo Blair / Christian Post.com / August 10, 2014

ISIS

"National spokesman for Iraqi Christians and Chaldean-American businessman Mark Arabo said the 'evil' being carried out by ISIS militants in Iraq now includes shocking beheadings of children, and he praised President Barack Obama for authorizing an intervention in the crisis Thursday.

"'They are systematically beheading children, and mothers and fathers. The world hasn't seen an evil like this for a generation. There's actually a park in Mosul that they've actually beheaded children and put their heads on a stick,' Arabo told CNN's Jonathan Mann last week.

"'They've marked the red stamp of death on Christian homes and basically saying we know who you are and if you come back, you will get killed. That's why we're saying this is a Christian holocaust within our midst and the world community cannot turn a blind eye,' said Arabo. 'They are absolutely killing every Christian they see. This is a genocide in every sense of the word. They want everyone to convert and they want Sharia law to be the law of the land.'"

The World Is On Fire & We Will Soon See A 2008-Style Collapse

By: Egon von Greyerz / King World News.com / July 10, 2014

World on Fire

"'Eric, the cracks in the world and the world economy are getting greater by the day, and we are soon entering a stage where these cracks will turn into black holes. One of Portugal's largest banks is now under real financial pressure. And in Austria, the Hypo Alpe Bank is finished. Erste Bank is also under pressure due to major losses on mortgage loans in Swiss francs to Hungary and Romania ...'

"'We've been discussing for a while how the European banks are not reflecting their true bad debt situation, and this is not just in countries like Spain, Italy, Portugal, and Greece, but also in France.'

"'In Germany, Deutsche Bank, which has 50-times leverage, is also having problems. Even in Sweden, whose economy is considered robust, they could not survive a major increase in interest rates. The Swedes are borrowing more than most European countries in relation to their size.'

"'Stock markets are still at ridiculous levels in many countries. In the U.S., for example, there are a lot fewer people employed, and the ones who have jobs have not seen a real wage increase for the last 30 years. The U.S. also has massive debts and deficits, and on top of that GDP is falling. Is that the sign of a booming economy? No, certainly not. And investors will soon find out through painful losses.'"

Not Just Argentina, 11 Countries Near Bankrupt

By: Alexander E.M. Hess and Alexander Kent / USA Today.com / August1, 2014

Argentina

"After years of bitter court battles with creditors, Argentina has defaulted on its debt, according to rating agency Standard & Poor's. After failing to come to an agreement with creditors from its previous default in 2001, the country missed necessary bond payments on July 31, triggering the default announcement.

"Argentina is not the only country that has struggled, or even failed, to pay its debt in recent years. Moody's currently lists 10 other countries with a rating of Caa1 or worse. A Caa1 rating is several notches below Ba1, which still carries substantial credit risk. Based on ratings from Moody's Investors Service, these are the 11 countries at risk of default.

Why The Earthquake Near San Francisco Is Just The Start Of The Shaking In California

By Michael Snyder, on August 24th, 2014

If you thought that the earthquake that struck northern California on Sunday was something, just wait until you see what is coming in the years ahead. As you will read about below, we live at a time when earthquake activity is dramatically increasing. This is especially true of the "Ring of Fire" which runs roughly along the outer perimeter of the Pacific Ocean. Approximately 81 percent of all big earthquakes occur along the Ring of Fire, and the entire west coast of the United States falls within the danger zone. Over the past few years, we have seen huge earthquake after huge earthquake strike various areas along the Ring of Fire, but up until now the California coastline has mostly been spared. However, there are indications that this may be about to change in a big way.

...

Something is happening that scientists don't understand, and that is a little scary.

As I wrote about the other day, earthquake activity seems to particularly be increasing in the United States. While the west has been relatively quiet, the number of earthquakes in the central and eastern portions of the nation has quintupled over the past 30 years ...

...

What in the world could be causing this to happen?

Oklahoma, which used to rarely ever have significant earthquakes, has experienced over 2,300 earthquakes so far in 2014.

That is absolutely staggering.

And of course volcanic activity has been rising all over the planet as well. In 2013, the number of eruptions around the globe set a new all-time high, and right now persistent rumbling under Iceland's Bardarbunga volcano has much of Europe on alert...

...

All over the world seismic activity is on the rise.

Earth Cracks Open Around The World - Latest In Mexico

August 21, 2014 By Susan Duclos

Cracks in teh earth

Amazing photos and video have recently been released of a "giant" crack in the earth opening in northern Mexico, with questions of whether it will effect or was effected by the San Andreas Fault, but other such cracks have opened up over the years in Peru, Chile, Pakistan and other places as will be seen below in multiple short videos of the events found by simply searching for "earth cracks." Questions of whether there is a connection to sinkholes are seen, as well as theories, including pole shifts, ground water saturation and many more outlandish speculation.

Worst drought in half a century hits China's bread-basket

By Laura He Published: Aug 13, 2014

China drought

HONG KONG (MarketWatch) - China's worst drought in half a century is sweeping across crucial agricultural regions, devastating harvests in its wake and threatening food security.

Part of the area hit by unusually dry weather - the northeastern Manchurian Plain - is known as China’s bread-basket, supplying much of the country's corn, wheat and soybean production.

In a portion of the plain, in Jilin province, 10 major grain producing counties are facing the lowest rainfall since 1951, and many corn fields are facing "zero harvest," according to report by the state-run Xinhua New Agency, citing Jilin's provincial weather bureau.

Next door in Liaoning province, there has been no rain at all since late July.

Ferguson Is A Perfect Example Of How Quickly The Streets Of America Can Descend Into Chaos

By Michael Snyder, on August 11th, 2014

Ferguson

Rioting, looting, burning down stores and shooting police officers - is this about to become the "new normal" in America? What we just witnessed happen in the streets of Ferguson, Missouri is a prime example of how quickly the streets of America can descend into chaos. There is so much anger and frustration in this country, especially among our young people, that all it takes is a "trigger event" to spark a wildfire. In this case, it was the shooting of an unarmed black teen by a police officer. According to the police, 18-year-old Michael Brown got into a physical altercation with an officer and was subsequently shot. Word spread quickly throughout the community, and protests were rapidly organized. But the protests didn't stay peaceful. People started chanting "kill the police" and throwing rocks and bottles. Store windows were smashed, the looting began, and people went absolutely crazy. And it wasn't just a few people that were doing the looting. Huge mobs of people looted stores all over Ferguson. At one point an ATM was even dragged out of a QuikTrip gas station and a while after that the store was set on fire. But this is what happens when things descend into chaos. The owners of those stores didn't have anything to do with the shooting of Michael Brown, but the violence got directed at them anyway. And someday when we see similar scenes erupt in major cities all over the nation, it won't matter what your political beliefs are. You just better not be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Ferguson is a little town just outside of St. Louis with a population of about 21,000 people. You wouldn't think that it would be possible to see such massive rioting in such a small community. But that is precisely what happened. On Monday, millions of Americans were absolutely mesmerized by the images coming out of Ferguson. The following is how one news source described what happened...

BLACKOUT USA:The Darkest Nightmare Closer Than You Ever Imagined

Friday, September 5, 2014 20:52

EMP-caused blackoutTEXT

Four days before Halloween, on Sunday morning, October 27, 2013, terrorists in Mexico's Michoacan state blacked out the electric grid, leaving some 420,000 powerless and thirteen dead. That same Sunday night, National Geographic aired the docudrama American Blackout. This fictionalized account of a cyber attack on the electric grid depicts some of the horrific consequences of a nationwide blackout lasting 10 days:

People get trapped in elevators and become virtual prisoners in their high-rise apartment buildings. Gasoline is rationed to the military and hospitals, so the average American has no transportation-except for his legs. Food and water become so scarce that there is a life and death struggle over a can of peaches. Before day 10 of the blackout, society starts breaking down into anarchy as gangs and vigilante groups run wild. One of the heroes of the docudrama, a survivalist who is prepared for anything and does everything right, except for one seemingly small and humane mistake, is about to have his throat cut, when electric power, and civilization, suddenly returns on day 10.

National Geographic is to be applauded for American Blackout which is essentially a training film to educate the American people about the very real threat posed to their lives by a cyber attack on the electric grid. If there is any fault or unrealism in the docudrama, it is that the blackout lasts only 10 days, and recovery is achieved so quickly.

In real life ...

No More Fillings as Dentists Reveal New Tooth Decay Treatment

TODAY Online.com. / June 16, 2014

new tooth treatment

LONDON -- Scientists have developed a new pain-free filling that allows cavities to be repaired without drilling or injections.

"The tooth-rebuilding technique developed at King's College London does away with fillings and instead encourages teeth to repair themselves.

"The new treatment, called Electrically Accelerated and Enhanced Remineralisation (EAER), accelerates the natural movement of calcium and phosphate minerals into the damaged tooth.

"A two-step process first prepares the damaged area of enamel, then uses a tiny electric current to push minerals into the repair site. It could be available within three years."

"'Not only is our device kinder to the patient and better for their teeth, but it's expected to be at least as cost-effective as current dental treatments. Along with fighting tooth decay, our device can also be used to whiten teeth.'"
