Freedom of Expression

by Missy

We must always remember that in taking others freedoms away we also take our own away. I've tried to make this point about Freedom of expression for so long to so many people. You put it very well. Thanks!

I received this email from my mom and I immediately Googled "Corpus Christi" to verify whether it's true or not. I'm glad to have come across this page. It only goes to show that we are to take utmost care and exercise precaution in sending/forwarding, most of all, believing email messages.

I felt offended by the suggestion that Jesus is gay not because I think being gay is wrong, I'm a gay man myself. I felt offended because it is blasphemy to depict the Lord in any way other than the truth contained in the Bible.

I agree that we should not impede upon other's freedom of expression, rather we must increase our efforts to share the truth and dispel any claim contrary to it.

Hi Sean

Thank you for your comment. Yes, freedom of expression is the point I am largely making. I also do not think it is a proper depiction of the Lord and certainly not according to the Bible. However, our action to counteract this should be to spread truth not to censor or condemn others.

The Greek has multiple words for forgiveness? God forgives (charizomai) whether we ask or not. Receiving forgiveness (apheimi) is by our choice.
