Health in the Bible

Is the topic of health in the Bible? Is there any concern in scripture about health laws? Are there any that apply today? I believe that God is very concerned about our health. He should be if He is concerned about our happiness because health is such a big aspect of our quality of life.

I hope to add more here in the future about what the Bible says directly about health. For now I will just share the following verses that show God's interest in our health and ask you to please visit my other website which is on health, how to deal with pain and how to use a healthy lifestyle to improve your health.
"Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward." (Isa 58:8)

"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." (1 Cor 6:19-20)

"Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." (3 John 1:2)
The last verse expresses God's will for us in the area of health. I believe that our happiness and health is very important to a loving God who designed our wonderful self-healing bodies. His Word does have some things to say about health.

Everyone is trying to avoid pain whether they have an acute problem or are dealing with chronic pain from day to day. The best long-term way to avoid pain is to adopt a better lifestyle which, because it follows essentially the manufacturer's directions, naturally leads to a better life.

My health website follows that philosophy and lays out many ways you can improve your lifestyle for more health and happiness in the future. Good health and happiness is a positive witness to others and helps us to serve Him better.
Here is one health issue the Bible does say something quite definite about - the eating of pork.
