Polar Shift and Global Superstorms

A polar shift is not something you experience every day but there are indications that they have happened in the past. The environment seems to becoming more unstable with each passing year. A polar shift could give us much worse. On top of all that, there is increased volcanic activity especially in the east of Russia and many other problems that are affecting global food production and life in general. There are also a few articles in this newsletter about the dire state of the U.S. economy. And we end this issue with a couple of articles about Iranian warships traveling the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean. Be sure to click the link to read the remainder of the first of these two articles and compare it to my page on Daniel Chapter 8 to see the considerable significance of what is going on in connection with this and the general unrest in the Middle East.

Polar Shift

Magnetic Polar Shifts Causing Massive Global Superstorms
Superstorms can also cause certain societies, cultures or whole countries to collapse. Others may go to war with each other.
By: Terrence Aym / Salem-News.com / February 4, 2011

magnetic polar shift

"NASA has been warning about it . . . scientific papers have been written about it . . . geologists have seen its traces in rock strata and ice core samples . . .

"Now 'it' is here: an unstoppable magnetic polar shift that has sped up and is causing life-threatening havoc with the world's weather.

"Forget about global warming -- man-made or natural -- what drives planetary weather patterns is the climate and what drives the climate is the sun's magnetosphere and its electromagnetic interaction with a planet's own magnetic field.

"When the field shifts, when it fluctuates, when it goes into flux and begins to become unstable anything can happen. And what normally happens is that all hell breaks loose."

Russian Volcano Activity Causes Global Concern
Balkans.com/ February 7, 2011

russian volcano

"A string of volcanoes on Russia's eastern seaboard of Kamchatka have been unusually active for the last six months. The dust they threw up diverted winds in the Arctic, pushing cold air over Europe and North America and causing the unusually cold winter this year, say scientists.

"The volcanoes (160 in total, of which 29 are active) are still on the go and could create more problems this year, depressing harvests around the world just as global food prices soar and culminating in a second freezing winter next Christmas.

"The eruptions have come at the worst possible time. The Pacific Ocean has already been cooled by the so-called La Nina -- which contributed to the deluge in Australia and Tropical Cyclones -- while at the same time the Atlantic Ocean is warmer than usual, say climatologists. Erste Bank says the combination of this means the weather forecast for the first quarter of this year is extreme, which will hit both the agricultural and mining sectors, sending already spiking prices up even faster. 'These climatic conditions reduce the outlooks of harvest for agricultural commodities (last year was also bad) and prevent the mining of commodities like coal,' says Erste. 'The extreme weather will probably culminate in the [first quarter] -- this is the reason why the prices of commodities will be influenced by this weather . . . then an acceleration of consumer inflation. . . There are also problems for transport due to strong storms.'

"The combination shifts wind patterns around the world, but the spanner in the works has been the Kamchatka volcanoes, which are throwing massive amounts of dust into the air, causing the Arctic to become even colder and Arctic winds to push farther south, resulting in a very drastic change in patterns. 'Kamchatka tends to be somewhat active -- but recently it has been ridiculous! Since late November, Kizimen, Sheveluch, Karymsky, and Kliuchevskoi have been erupting almost constantly,' Evelyn Browning Garriss writes in the Browning Newsletter, a monthly weather publication.

"Volcanic ash screens out the sun, cooling the air below. This lowers air pressures, which in turn changes wind patterns, especially in the Arctic. The upshot is, Browning Garriss says, 'the cold air normally trapped around the North Pole surges south.'"

Get Ready for Higher Food Prices
By: David Hendee/ Omaha World Herald.com/ February 10, 2011

higher food prices

"Warnings of higher food prices headed for American supermarkets and restaurants were swallowed easily across much of farm country Wednesday.

"The big gulp came when the U.S. Department of Agriculture reported that global demand had pushed U.S. corn supplies to their lowest point in 15 years.

"The price of corn, which has doubled over the past six months, affects most food products in supermarkets. It's used to feed the cattle, hogs and chickens that fill the meat aisles.

"It is the main ingredient in Cap'n Crunch and Doritos. Turned into syrup, it sweetens most soft drinks and many foods.

"Corn also is part of the agricultural blend that fuels the economies of Nebraska, Iowa and other farming states. Iowa is the nation's top corn-producing state; Nebraska is third.

"Shoppers could see higher grocery bills as early as three months from now, though most of the impact won't be felt for another six months, said Scott Irwin, an agricultural economics professor at the University of Illinois."

China Devalues US Buying Power by 30%, Protects US Treasury Holdings
By: Jack H. Barnes/Business Insider.com / January 19, 2011

TEXT

"The trade imbalance between the US and China, a hot button between the nations for the last decade or so, is finally going to start to stabilize in the summer of 2011. However, it is doing so with a de facto devaluation of the US dollar and its buying power. The average American will see a spike in the price of everything from their favorite jeans and T-shirts, to the cost of some electronics.

"The Chinese have decided to devalue the US dollar's buying power, without devaluing the US Treasury holdings they hold. It is an elegant solution to their issues. It will be interesting to see if they can pull it off, while they try to prop up the European Sovereign debt markets at the same time.

"The US Dollar devaluation will come in the form of an increase in the prices of all products. In reality it will represent the uniform cost push effects of inflation. The US can expect it on all Chinese based products of one form or another. The timing of the change is set to arrive with the products on the US shores in the summer of 2011.

"'They're going to go home with 35 percent less product than for the same dollars as last year,' particularly for fur coats and cotton sportswear, said Bennett Model, chief executive of Cassin, a Manhattan-based line of designer clothing. 'The consumer will definitely see the price rise.'"

America going the way of Greece, Persia, Rome
By: Jeffrey T. Kuhner / World Tribune.com / December 31, 2010

American decline

"With 2010 drawing to a close, the American moment is ending not with a bang but a whimper. The 2000s will be remembered as the era of American decline.

"Instead of trying to reverse this, Washington is hastening it. The lame-duck Congress, with help from Republicans, passed President Obama's tax deal, which adds nearly another trillion to the debt. It is a massive stimulus in disguise -- with no offsetting spending cuts.

"In the 2000s, as we became soft, self-indulgent and mired in foreign interventions, a new great power emerged: an ultranationalist China. During the past decade, Beijing became the world's No. 1 manufacturer and automaker, premier exporting nation and No. 2 economy. China is engaged in a massive military buildup and menaces its neighbors. It owns much of our public debt. It is to America what we once were to Great Britain: the rising force in the world.

"All civilizations rise and fall. Ancient Greece, Persia, Rome, medieval Europe, the great Italian city-states, the Ottoman Empire, the vast European empires -- the past is littered with the corpses of once unparalleled and dominant powers that are now a distant memory. So too has America passed its zenith."

A Tipping Point Is Nearing
By: Jeff T. Allen / American Thinker.com/ February14, 2011

tipping point

"We are facing a tipping point. There will soon be a crisis affecting US citizens beyond any experienced since the Great Depression. And it may happen within the year. This past week three awful developments put a dagger into the hope for a growth-led recovery, which held promise of possibly averting a debt and currency implosion crushing the American economy.

"The first was . . ."

Two Iranian Warships Transit Suez for Syria, Tighten Siege on Israel
DEBKAfile.com / February16, 2011

Iranian warships

"Twenty-four hours after Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the Egyptian upheaval had no military connotations for Israel, the Iranian frigate Alvand and cruiser Kharg transited the Suez Canal on their way to Syria Wednesday night, Feb. 16. Their passage was termed 'a provocation' by Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman. In Beirut, Hizballah leader Hassan Nasrallah said he was looking forward to Israel going to war on Lebanon because then his men would capture Galilee.

"Up until now, Saudi Arabia, in close conjunction with Egypt and its President Hosni Mubarak, led the Sunni Arab thrust to contain Iranian expansion -- especially in the Persian Gulf. However, the opening of a Saudi port to war ships of the Islamic Republic of Iran for the first time in the history of their relations points to a fundamental shift in Middle East trends in consequence of the Egyptian uprising.

It was also the first time Cairo has permitted Iranian warships to transit Suez from the Red Sea to the Mediterranean, although Israeli traffic in the opposite direction had been allowed."

You really should follow the link above and read the rest of the article. It provides further reinforcement for what I have been sharing about the fulfillment of Daniel Chapter 8.

Iranian Warships Complete Suez Canal Transit
By: Maamoun Youssef / Fox News.com/ February 22, 2011

Iran Suez

CAIRO -- Two Iranian naval vessels traveled through the Suez Canal on Tuesday en route to Syria, officials said, the first time in three decades that Tehran has sent military ships through the strategic waterway.

"Canal officials said the ships -- a frigate and a supply vessel -- had reached the Mediterranean Sea by about 4 p.m. local time.

"Israel saw the passage as a provocation. Earlier this week Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he viewed the move 'with gravity.'"
